The country never looks as stunning as in the early light of dawn. With all creatures still asleep, it feels like another world, serene and a little mysterious. It is one of my favorite times to venture out with my camera, and in this case, I had one of my favorite couples for company. All photos are by film photographer Odalys Mendez based in Atlanta, Miami, and New York.
Some of my favorite moments spent photographing weddings occur when I get to take a walk with the couple and focus on them alone. There’s usually a quiet joy in those short moments that permeates the air. It is a welcome respite from the energy of the day, and I get to witness the magic that happens when two people realize that they’ve just become husband and wife.
Thinking about this beautiful vintage car in the countryside today. Isn’t this a fabulous garland? Perfect for your getaway!

It gives me a tremendous amount of joy when I can connect with people as awesome and down-to-earth ad Kate and Erik. They are the kind of couple that exudes love to everyone around them, and being part of their journey was an experience I’ll treasure forever.
This gorgeous wedding is featured on this month’s issue of The Knot Georgia.
