According to some locals this is the first time in 17 years it snows on Christmas in Atlanta; hurray! My friends up North may be laughing at our enthusiasm right now, but truth is, we enjoy every little bit we get, even if it is just a few miniscule snowflakes. There is something magical about snow that makes the world brighter and more cheerful, and specially around Christmas time.

Now being born and raised in an island in the Caribbean, my tolerance for cold temperatures is something to be ashamed of; I only lasted about fifteen minutes outside. Enough to get involved in a snowball fight with the girls and get a few snapshots of the action. My goal: to get some thermal gloves and long-johns so I am better prepared when February comes around.

Some of my favorites from today,

I just can’t stay indoors with this mild, gorgeous weather and the splashes of jewel tone colors¬†everywhere. Fall is my favorite season and I am taking full advantage of it this year. My favorite shots of the day… :)

Whenever I have a little bit of down time in my schedule inevitably the camera turns to my own children. Especially at the age of two just a couple of months make a huge difference in the way they look and express themselves. So this weekend me and my favorite toddler enjoyed the change in weather in our own backyard, and while she discovered leaves, acorns, and pointed out squirrels, I snapped and soaked it all in.

As a photographer, I am always behind the camera and seldom in front of the lens. So, determined to get some family photos this past weekend, I took the DIY route and captured some fun and cute moments of my troup. Here are my favorites:

Nothing melts my heart¬†more than photographing a newborn baby. Like this proud papa said “children are a gift from God”; newborns always remind me of the amazing miracle¬†that is¬†life.

I spent my morning today with this sweet baby boy and his family. From our short time together I can tell that he will grow surrounded by so much love.

Thank you for welcoming me into your home and letting me photograph your little angel. Enjoy your sneak peek.

He is a fall baby so we played with pumpkins :)

Mesmerized by mom and dad…

Noah’s first birthday is this month and we celebrated this important milestone with a photo session to capture what being one is all about. He is walking and exploring everything around him with curiosity and glee, from the local playground to the crunchy fallen leaves in his front yard, Noah and I had a blast playing. Here are a few of my favorites:

I ventured out this afternoon with my dear daughter in tow for a photo shoot. She was just out of school, had dripped some chocolate ice cream on her white shirt, and when we got in the car I realized her shoes did not match her outfit at all, nevertheless we had fun walking around town snapping away. My favorites from the evening:

This girl who also happens to be my best friend is not only stunningly beautiful but smart, kind, and driven. We fought like cats and dogs as kids, and our relationship now is gold. We’ve been doing outdoorsy things this weekend… but I have plans to dress her up and do a formal shoot soon. Here is my stunning sis…

My sister and her boyfriend are rock climbers, so I knew when they said they were coming for the weekend that we’d be spending some time at Stone Summit in Atlanta. If you have never been there, you need to go!¬†This place is¬†a huge, air-conditioned rock climbing gym with some seriously tall walls, and the best part, there’s a kid’s area where the little ones can play while you climb. If you don’t know what you are doing,t hey have instructors on-site to direct you and belay-certify you. There was a married couple who came in with their one year old and put him down to take a nap within site while they played :)

Our day started with lunch at the scrumptious Antico pizza restaurant near Georgia Tech. Another place you need to visit for THE BEST pizza in the Western hemisphere. Here is my sister, Ben, and my oldest after sharing a delicious pie.

My peanut picking rocks outside in the parking lot.

Climbing… my oldest got to the top for the first time, so she earned her very own¬†chalk bag.

After a whole afternoon of climbing we needed to recharge the batteries and ended up at No Mas Cantina in Atlanta for some tasty mexican food. I love the ambiance of this restaurant, specially after the sun goes down.

Much love,

You can feel it in the air, mornings and evenings are cooler, the light is getting softer, you can actually breathe when you go outside rather than trying to aspire vapor. The days of green grass, slip-and-slides, and popsicles are once again coming to an end.

For my kids, that means spending every afternoon in the backyard, walking barefoot on the soft green grass, doing scavenger hunts and decorating the concrete driveway with whimsical landscapes rendered in pastel colored chalk. And I happily shoot away the array of colors.

Her favorite tree…

Planning out her next move…
