I love having daughters; playing dress-up and princess and having tea parties. I am blessed beyond belief with my two girls, but when I was younger, I always pictured myself as the mother of boys. So it’s no surprise that despite being very girly girls, my little princesses play wizards and knights, dream about their first car being a 1969¬†Mustang GT500 in grabber blue, and can throw a football better than I ever could, all with a fuschia boa wrapped around their neck.

Yet, when I get to photograph boys, a whole new world opens up to me. I love their mischief and spunk. Their constant wrestling and fearlessness in grabbing a frog or lizzard. Boys have an appeal and beauty of their own.

These two were a little shy and as sweet as can be. Here are my favorite shots of our session.

When I first got there, this little one wanted nothing to do with me.

But we soon became friends..

This boy has the creamiest skin I have ever seen, and look at those freckles!

I love being witness to this kind of bond between siblings. These two truly love each other.

This is their spirited dog Dasher, I think she wants to be a photographer when she grows up, she kept going for the camera ;-)

Thank you for letting me document your lives. Enjoy your sneak peek!

I spent some time this afternoon photographing this blue-eyed beauty. She is an aspiring actress and model with some impressive roles under her belt already. Here are a couple of my favorite shots from our session:

I love kids. I remember being in such a rush to grow up and now I long for the freedom of being a child. We think we’ll be free when we reach adulthood¬†but little do we know that childhood is true freedom.¬†I wish I could get that message across to my kids: enjoy that feeling of complete adventure and spontaineity that you have right now, absorb every minute of your innocence, but I sound like an adult when I say those things.

It took about a millisecond to convince these kids to lay on the grass and roll down the slope of their backyard;¬†their parents are probably going to remember me for a long time thanks to my little idea. :) ¬†If I could postpone twilight and hadn’t had 20 lbs. of photographic equipment on me, I would have rolled down the hill with them (again, adult thinking). In retrospect, I wish I would have and then their parents would remember me for a long time as a complete lunatic.

These kids have the most amazing personalities; we hit it off right away and although I didn’t roll down the hill with them we did hold hands and skipped down the road together. Here are some of my favorites from our afternoon.

I just can’t stay indoors with this mild, gorgeous weather and the splashes of jewel tone colors¬†everywhere. Fall is my favorite season and I am taking full advantage of it this year. My favorite shots of the day… :)

Whenever I have a little bit of down time in my schedule inevitably the camera turns to my own children. Especially at the age of two just a couple of months make a huge difference in the way they look and express themselves. So this weekend me and my favorite toddler enjoyed the change in weather in our own backyard, and while she discovered leaves, acorns, and pointed out squirrels, I snapped and soaked it all in.

As a photographer, I am always behind the camera and seldom in front of the lens. So, determined to get some family photos this past weekend, I took the DIY route and captured some fun and cute moments of my troup. Here are my favorites:

Nothing melts my heart¬†more than photographing a newborn baby. Like this proud papa said “children are a gift from God”; newborns always remind me of the amazing miracle¬†that is¬†life.

I spent my morning today with this sweet baby boy and his family. From our short time together I can tell that he will grow surrounded by so much love.

Thank you for welcoming me into your home and letting me photograph your little angel. Enjoy your sneak peek.

He is a fall baby so we played with pumpkins :)

Mesmerized by mom and dad…

Meet Justin. He is a pretty laid back senior who knows what he wants. We spent some time yesterday at beautiful Callaway Gardens for his senior pictures. Here are a few of my favorites:

Looking ultra-cool in his car.

His family and I are both from South Florida so we are Miami Dolphins fans.

Justin is a welder and wants to pursue a career in this field after graduation. I came over to the shop to see him work and capture some of shots of this part of his life.

And no, this is not his sister, it’s his beautiful mom :)

I am participating in an amazing workshop with a great group of women. With photography you can never just sit back in complacency, there is for sure a need to continue in your education and fueling your creativity. My dear daughter is my most cooperative subject when it comes to trying out new equipment, new knowledge, and everything in between, sometimes with a little bribery or reverse psychology :)

This past weekend my first assignment was due and I wanted to share a couple of photos since I am particularly fond of them. Of course I think the subject matter is irresistible.

Have a nice week! Much love…

You can feel it in the air, mornings and evenings are cooler, the light is getting softer, you can actually breathe when you go outside rather than trying to aspire vapor. The days of green grass, slip-and-slides, and popsicles are once again coming to an end.

For my kids, that means spending every afternoon in the backyard, walking barefoot on the soft green grass, doing scavenger hunts and decorating the concrete driveway with whimsical landscapes rendered in pastel colored chalk. And I happily shoot away the array of colors.

Her favorite tree…

Planning out her next move…

Our golden retriever Pepper likes to supervise.
